What is Life Teen?

Life Teen is a Eucharist-centered movement within the Roman Catholic Church, Life Teen leads teenagers and their families into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church. With the Blessed Virgin Mary as our  intercessor and guide.

Our Goal

The goal of Life Teen is to create an environment to lead teens into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church. It speaks to teens on all levels: emotional, intellectual, social, and spiritual. It provides a place for teens to find solid Catholic community, to get answers to their questions that they have about their faith, and, most importantly, to experience Jesus in a profound and personal way.

What and How We Teach?

Life Teen follows the USCCB Doctrinal Framework for High School Catechesis and is on a four-year cycle specifically to make sure all high-schoolers have the opportunity to attend all four years of their high-school career without hearing the same exact topics. So whether your teen has come before or not, have their Sacraments or not, or even if they’re not Catholic…they can Join us and hear something new.

The evening begins with a Mass directed specifically towards teens, which is followed immediately by the Life Night, which falls under one of three categories: catechetical, issue, or social. Teens experience  an atmosphere of love and acceptance from their peers and the adult leaders (Core) who are there to assist them in their journey.

Teens that desire Sacraments  (baptism, communion, or confirmation) need to compete 1 year of  Life Teen.

Confirmation Formation
or as we call it: "The Purpose Year"

Purpose is our Confirmation Formation program designed for high school students in grades 10 through 12, spanning the entire academic year. It is tailored for teenagers who are actively participating in Life Teen and have completed at least one year of Life Teen. Our team accompanies both you and your teenager on their spiritual journey as they deepen their faith in preparation for receiving God's gift through the Sacrament of Confirmation.

Purpose represents a profound shift in the approach to confirmation, emphasizing transformation over mere information. It is not a traditional classroom-style lecture; rather, it provides a unique opportunity for a personal encounter with Christ. Our focus centers on three fundamental questions: 'Why God?' 'Why Jesus?' and 'Why the Church?'

Purpose extends beyond being a checkbox program; it represents a comprehensive and innovative approach to sacramental preparation. There is no preaching involved—instead, we facilitate thought-provoking discussions.

Our instructors guide students through these critical topics by posing challenging questions that teens must grapple with. These inquiries include:

- Is the existence of God a reality?
- Why does evil and suffering exist in the world?
- What is the significance of being a Catholic?
- Why confess my sins to a priest?
- What is the purpose of attending Mass?
- Why did God create me?
- What is my ultimate purpose in life?"
