Memo from Msgr. Raun - Wednesday, May 13th, 2020

My dear family,

Greetings in the Risen Lord!

One of Four Ways to Deal With Your COVID-19 Worries

1. Let Jesus be your Shepherd.

You can easily forget that you have a shepherd. A shepherd takes the responsibility to feed, lead, and meet the needs of his sheep. These are God’s responsibilities that He promises to do for you.

Start every day by saying, “The Lord is my shepherd. You’re a good God.” Then repeat that throughout the day. If you start saying that phrase on a regular basis, your worry will decrease. Reminding yourself that you have a good shepherd who cares for you cuts down on worry.

PRAYER REQUEST - from one of our Care Callers, Glenda Sigg :
I have been in regular communication with H. R. and gave Msgr. Raun her name, as her son, A. R., age 5, is now in hospice care.  I talked with H. yesterday and she said that since A. may live another year or so, prayer intentions for A. would be most appreciated.  (A. has a genetic disorder and an older child died at age 6 of the same disorder).

Let us pray for one another!

FOOD DRIVE THIS SATURDAY for our friends at St. Felix Pantry. Their truck will be at the church from 7:30 am to 7 pm. They are happy to receive any sort of non-perishable food or cash donations. Not surprisingly, St. Felix has seen a 30% increase in requests for food from the start of the quarantine. Our parish has a long and proud relationship of supporting St. Felix Pantry. I'm sure that those of us who can help, will help.

HOLINESS TIP:  taken from the sayings of Blessed Laura Vicuña....

“O Mary, give me your hand, take mine!” Stay close to the Blessed Mother. Foster a tender, childlike love for her by daily prayer to our Lady, and imitating her virtues.

WE ARE IN THE MONTH OF MAY - PRAY THE ROSARY EVERY DAY!

LAUGHTER IS THE BEST MEDICINE:
- Due to the Quarantine..... I'll only be telling inside jokes.

-My refrigerator just groaned, rolled it's eyes, and hissed at me..."NOT YOU AGAIN" !

OUR PRAYER FOR THE DAY: for the feast of Our Lady of Fatima....

Most Holy Virgin
who hast deigned to come to Fatima,
to reveal the treasures of graces
hidden in the recitation of the Rosary,
inspire our hearts with a sincere love of this devotion
that meditating on the
Mysteries of our Redemption recalled therein,
we may obtain the conversion of sinners
and the favors we ask you now,
for the greater glory of God,
for your own honor,
and for the good of souls. Amen.

I send you my fatherly blessing, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen !

Msgr. Doug Raun
