Memo from Msgr. Raun - Monday, April 20th, 2020

My dear family in the Lord,

Some more Bible verses for our Quarantine meditation !

God Takes Your Hand to Comfort Your Fears and Help You

“I have chosen you and have not rejected you. So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God… For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, ‘Do not fear; I will help you’” (Isaiah 41:9-10, 13).

Fear Melts Away When You Hear God’s Love Song for You

“Never again will you fear any harm… The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save.  He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing” (Zephaniah 3:15, 17).

God’s Love Through One Another Calms Fear

“Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another… There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love” (1 John 4:11, 18).

PRAISE REPORT: Debbie is one of our Care Callers. She shares with us this story:
"Just wanted to share a God-moment with you. I was going down my list of parishioners to call and got to one who for the past few weeks Verizon had said it was a wrong number. Much to my surprise a woman, weepy and speaking in broken sentences, shared I had caught her in a very frustrating moment. She had lost her job yesterday and was trying unsuccessfully to apply for unemployment. I asked her if I could pray with her and told her I would continue to offer her intentions up in prayer and call back next week to see how she's doing. She thanked me and shared how I had called at just the right moment. It's funny, nothing on my call sheet was correct, but our merciful Lord and our Blessed Mother whose intercession I asked for knew she needed words of encouragement and prayer at exactly that moment. God is good - all the time! "

SHARE US ON-LINE on your social media. Download the parish app onto your smart phone or tablet. It the easiest way to receive everything the parish has to enrich your life.

HOLINESS TIP: Read one of the four Gospels slowly and carefully

OUR PRAYER FOR THE DAY:
Dear God, thank You for the resurrection of Your Son, Jesus. We want to celebrate Him every day of our lives. In a world that grows increasingly dark, help us hold up His light. Give us the courage to speak as boldly as Mary Magdalene did, and never be ashamed of proclaiming Your Good News. We ask this through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord. Amen.

I send you my fatherly blessing, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen !
Msgr. Doug Raun
