Memo from Msgr. Raun - Sunday, May 3rd, 2020

My dear family in the Lord,

Good Morning !

REASONS TO HOPE IN GOD'S GOODNESS
During this quarantine, the Lord has really been leading us to Psalm 23 - a psalm we are all familiar with, but because it is so familiar, we have taken for granted and perhaps never really meditated upon. Psalm 23 gives nine different benefits of God’s goodness—reasons why people can have hope no matter what is happening with COVID-19.

God will meet your needs when you’re worried!

“The LORD is my shepherd; there is nothing I lack” (Psalm 23:1). Because God is good, you don’t need to worry about any of your needs.

OUR "HABITS OF HAPPINESS" BIBLE STUDY CONTINUES TOMORROW NIGHT with Deacon Dave Little teaching at 7 pm. Our topic will be "The Humble Path To Happiness". Ask people: "What is the path to happiness?" They will tell you things like get a good job, get married, have kids, make a lot of money, and so on. But a lot of people have these things, and are very unhappy! St. Paul teaches us that the path to happiness is - HUMILITY. We will find out what true humility is, and how it leads to real happiness. Come join us.

HOLINESS TIP:  “God’s Providence is in all things; it’s always present.” God is here. Maybe that is hard to see each minute amid the death toll and infection rates, but he is. He is with the sick, and He is here with us.(inspired from the sayings of St.Gianna Molla).
DAILY PARISH WORSHIP during the Quarantine:9 am - Holy Mass on-line
5:30 pm Confessions in the Adoration Chapel (Monday through Saturday)
6 pm Holy Hour on-line

WE ARE IN THE MONTH OF MAY - PRAY THE ROSARY EVERY DAY!

THE CHURCH IS OPEN EVERY DAY from 7 am to 7 pm. Please practice social distancing while at church.

OUR TITHING - you have been wonderful, dear friends! I have been so touched by the generosity of so many to our parish. Understandably, more than a few of our parishioners are out of a job and simply can't tithe at the moment. But those of us who do have an income want to be faithful to the Lord and His people.

You can give two ways - either go to the website, click "Give", and make your donation on-line. Or you can mail or bring it to the office. With all my heart, I thank you!

SHARE US ON-LINE on your social media. Download the parish app onto your smart phone or tablet. It the easiest way to receive everything the parish has to enrich your life.

LAUGHTER IS THE BEST MEDICINE:

  • I'm starting to miss people I don't even like!
  • Hard to believe that you can walk into a store to buy pot, but have to meet your hairdresser in a dark alley with unmarked bills to get a haircut.

OUR PRAYER FOR THE DAY:

Lord God,
You loved this world so much,
That you gave your one and only Son,
That we might be called your children too.
Lord, help us to live in the gladness and grace
Of Easter everyday.
Let us have hearts of thankfulness
For your sacrifice.
Let us have eyes that look upon
Your grace and rejoice in our salvation.
Help us to walk in that mighty grace
And tell your good news to the world.
All for your glory do we pray, Lord,
Amen.

I send you my fatherly blessing, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen !
