Memo from Msgr. Raun- Friday April 17th, 2020

My dear family in the Lord,

The Lord is risen. ALLELUIA !

Yes, the quarantine is starting to get old. The evil one wants to play on our frayed nerves to make us impatient and sin against charity. So we fight back, meditating and drawing strength from the Word of God:

Jesus is Calm in the Storm (Then he Calms the Storm and his Disciples)
“Then [Jesus] got into the boat and his disciples followed him. Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping” (Matthew 8:23-24).

When You’re Stressed and Tired Jesus Offers Rest for Your Soul
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light” (Matthew 11:28-30).

Ask Jesus’ Father to Receive Good Gifts
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you… your Father in heaven [will] give good gifts to those who ask him!” (Matthew 7:7, 11).

God Cares for Your Emotions
“My heart is in anguish within me; the terrors of death have fallen on me. Fear and trembling have beset me… I call to God, and the Lord saves me. Evening, morning and noon I cry out in distress, and he hears my voice. He rescues me unharmed…” (Psalm 55:4-5, 16-18).

God Takes Your Hand to Comfort Your Fears and Help You
“I have chosen you and have not rejected you. So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God… For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, ‘Do not fear; I will help you’” (Isaiah 41:9-10, 13).

DAILY PARISH WORSHIP during the Quarantine:
9 am - Holy Mass on-line
5:30 pm Confessions in the Adoration Chapel (Monday through Saturday)
6 pm Holy Hour on-line
THE DIVINE MERCY NOVENA will be part of the 6 pm Holy Hour each day this week.
TOMORROW I will share how you can receive the promise of Divine Mercy Sunday, despite the quarantine!
PRAISE REPORT: I received a message from one of our very special parishioners, Marla. Marla was born with Down's Syndrome. I think she is now around thirty years old. She loves Jesus very much. She could not enter a religious order, so she took private vows to be a bride of Christ. She wanted me to share these words with you:
"Do you not know about Jesus? The true meaning of Jesus is always there for you. He gave up His life for us. Instead of being selfish He died for sins on the Cross. It is sad that we are ungrateful to Him.We all have faults but Jesus will forgive them....Jesus said, "Love one another as I have loved you." Our people are losing their faith in God. They need to pray more often. And pray for the ill and sick. Also to get help and to get better....Please, think about Jesus, and what He has done for you in your life. Wake up, people, you need to understand. Jesus loved you so much.
How blessed we are to have such tender souls such as Marla in our parish family. God loves them very much, and He especially listens to their prayers.
NEW ALPHA SERIES! : We have 20 people signed up already! How about you? How about inviting someone you know? Just go to stanm.org to register (which you have to do because we are going to have it on Zoom.)

SHARE US ON-LINE on your social media. Download the parish app onto your smart phone or tablet. It the easiest way to receive everything the parish has to enrich your life.

HOLINESS TIP: Make a daily sacrifice for our men in women on the front line, those suffering in the hospital, and for everyone suffering right now.

LAUGHTER IS THE BEST MEDICINE: for those of you who still have Easter candy around the house:
The twelve step program for chocolate: never stay more than twelve steps
from chocolate.
Research shows that 14 out of every 10 people like chocolate.
Strength is the capacity to break a chocolate bar into four pieces with
your bare hands and then eat just one of the pieces.
Save the earth; it's the only planet with chocolate.
If there is no God, who created chocolate?
OUR PRAYER FOR THE DAY:
So many of you shared with me how you liked yesterdays Litany of Trust. To download it, click https://sistersoflife.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/Mobile-Litany-of-Trust-English-1.pdf here:
Lord of all life and power,
who through the mighty resurrection of your Son
overcame the old order of sin and death
to make all things new in him:
grant that we, being dead to sin
and alive to you in Jesus Christ,
may reign with him in glory;
to whom with you and the Holy Spirit
be praise and honor, glory and might,
now and in all eternity.
Amen.
I send you my fatherly blessing, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen !

Thank you for your praise and thanksgiving for what we are trying to do during this difficult time. Please keep us in your prayers as we begin launching our new ministries.

Why is mass airing a day after on YouTube.

Dcn. Ed Leyba - April 19th, 2020 at 3:42pm

Virginia, Thanks for the message. Our Communications dept has noticed this issue. The Video is on our youtube channel immediately after the Live Stream but is kinda hidden.

If you go to our Youtube Channel and click the Videos Tab and then click the dropped down Arrow at uploads to change to Live streams, this will show you the latest feeds. We are currently working on a better solution with youtube at this time but may take awhile.

The best way is to come to our website and click the Media Tab, the second video down is always the last video streamed.
