First of all, a happy and blessed Father’s Day to all the dads of our parish!
“Mothers play an important role as the heart of the home, but this in no way lessens the equally important role fathers should play, as head of the home, in nurturing, training, and loving their children.” Ezra Taft Benson
“Without my dad, I wouldn’t be here.” Maria Sharapova
And heartfelt congratulations to our new Deacon, the Reverend Mister Edward Leyba, who today (Sunday) serves at the altar for the first time at the 9:00 am Mass. May God grant you many happy and holy years serving Him and His people!
This Monday, June 18, we start an exciting new Summer Adult Bible Study. Our topic for this Series will be Presence, The mystery of the Eucharist. The Eucharist is the “source and summit of our faith, but how many of us truly understand and know its place in the entire story of our salvation?
For this Bible Study we will use a new innovative approach of learning and sharing our faith. Our presentations will be provided by noted speakers as Dr. Scott Hahn, Dr. Edward Siri, Mr. Jeff Cavins and many others from the Augustine Institute out of Denver Colorado through video presentations. Following the presentations we will have a wonderful chance to delve into the topic through small group discussions that will allow us to ask questions and share our own insights. Just as Jesus taught the Apostles, we will follow His example. As Jesus often said, “Come and see”.
It all starts this Monday, June 18, 7:00 pm, in Fr. D’Arco Hall.
A few more clever quips:
- Money talks…..but all mine ever says is good-bye.
- If you think nobody cares whether you’re alive or dead, try missing a couple of payments.
Money can’t buy happiness, but it keeps the kids in touch!
A blessed week!
