Guidance through the first steps

of getting to know God

What kind of work can be more noble than to cultivate the minds of young people, guarding it carefully, so that the knowledge and love of God and His holy precepts go hand-in-hand with learning? To form young Christians and citizens — isn’t this the most beautiful and noble-minded way to make use of life, of all one’s talents and energy?” -St. John Cantius

Religious Education classes for all children in Kindergarten through 8th grade begin the Tuesday after Labor Day and run to the first week of May. Registration starts in May. All classes are 1 hour and 15 minutes, once a week. There are no fees for members of the parish as all are expected to participate in tithing. Non-members are asked for a donation of $100 per family, per year with a letter from the home Pastor giving permission.

First Holy Communion

First Holy Communion is a two-year program. The first year, we prepare the children to make their First Confession; this is usually done in 2nd grade. The second year, we prepare the children for First Communion this is usually done in 3rd grade.  Typically, First Communions are celebrated in May.

Vacation Bible School 2019

At “Roar”, children don’t just hear about God’s love; they see it, touch it, sing it, taste it, and put it into action through God Sightings. As they travel from station to station, they go deeper into their understanding of God and God’s Son, Jesus. Most importantly, children learn that because Jesus loves us, he came to die for our sins and make a way for us to live with God forever. Click HERE to learn more!
