Leading Teens to Christ

High School Teens

Youth Ministry at St. Thomas Aquinas Looks different than other parishes. We are not a One Size fits all program. We have many different options for your teen to grow in their faith life. This means we are more than just a sacramental prep class or a confirmation class. There are no registration fees.

The Sacrament of Confirmation is not the end or a graduation, it is a springboard launching us into the Mission of the Church.

We use the Gift of Confirmation to go out into the world with our gifts and talents in order to serve. How do we do this?

The JCore program is for Confirmed teens that are looking to lead others to Christ within the Church and their Community.

The Program is designed to help teens develop leadership & organizational skills that not only help them in ministry but in their day to day Lives.

Our Life Teen program is a place to hang out with friends, laugh, play, pray, and come to a deeper relationship with Christ. Life Teen seeks to integrate Catholic teachings into our everyday lives and to examine how our faith impacts our friendships, decisions, and tough stuff – like peer pressure, grades, and social pressures.

Life Teen does many activities through out the year.  In the past we have done Zip Lines, Rock Climbing, Laser Tag, Karaoke, Bowling, Trampoline Parks, Water parks and amusement parks.

Hait Trip 2019Apply to be a Missionary

St. Thomas Aquinas Mission Trips are an unforgettable opportunity to answer the Gospel call to “go and make disciples of all nations.”  We minister to the Youth of Haiti with work projects, home visits,  & prison ministry, feeding the poor, visiting orphanages, praying together, praise and worship and more. We will explore a beautiful new country with beautiful people, while seeking Jesus Christ.

Our Youth Ministry Program requires a substantial team of volunteers working at all levels – from Core members who lead small groups, Instructors in a Classroom setting, to Life Support who setup environments and serve food. The challenge of our Youth Ministry is to access the wealth and diversity of resources within and around the area so as to provide a meaningful and effective faith formation program for High School teenagers which engage their energy, imagination, curiosity, compassion and playful spirit in an exploration and engagement of our Catholic faith.

WELCOME TO A PLACE WHERE YOU CAN FEEL AT HOME

Why do I need one year of Life Teen?

Teens that are in 10th grade need 1 year of Life Teen because we have found those that are involved beyond just a Sacrament Prep Class for Confirmation are better prepared to live out the faith in their daily lives.

What if my teen is in 11th or 12th grade?

If your teen is in 11th or 12th grade the can go straight into Confirmation.  They are highly encouraged to attend Life Teen during and after Confirmation and many do.  Please remember the more effort you put into your formation the more you will get out.

If you have further Questions please feel free to Contact Deacon Ed at 505-892-1511 ext 104.  We are here to help your teen make their Sacraments.
