Memo from Msgr. Raun - Monday, May 18th, 2020

My dear family,

Greetings in the Risen Lord!

How  to Deal With Your COVID-19 Worries

Trust God for one day at a time.

Don’t steal your whole future by bringing its worries into today. Jesus said it this way, “Don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today” (Matthew 6:34). You have enough on your plate today. Don’t add anything else.
It’s okay to plan for tomorrow. Right now, we’re going through one of the most different experiences in history. Of course you need to make plans for what you’ll do in the days, weeks, and months to come.

But - you can plan for tomorrow without living in tomorrow. You can only live in today.
God is constantly testing how much we trust him. God wants us to decide whether He really holds first place in our lives.

This unique period of history is one of the biggest tests we’ll ever face when it comes to trusting God. God has promised to care for us. He will meet our needs.

Will we trust him?

HOW TO GO TO MASS: I almost broke down crying this weekend, so happy I was over being able to see you, to celebrate the Holy Mass in person for you, and to be able to see you receive our Lord in Holy Communion. For our first go at this, it all went very smoothly. Many thanks to all the people who worked to make it happen.
There is lots of room at the week-day Masses. All you have to do is...

1. Make a reservation - go to the parish website stanm.org or call the office 892-1511. The office is open today until 5 pm.

2. Wear a mask. If you don't wear a mask, you won't be let into the church.

3. Receive Holy Communion on the hand. It's much safer for everyone.

This week we will be evaluating our experience of last week-end, and undoubtedly making some changes. Keep reading the daily memo for important future announcements!

NEW CONFESSION TIMES: IMPORTANT !
Because of the restoration of public Masses, we need to adjust the Confession times. The current schedule is:

Monday through Friday - 5 pm
Saturday - 2:30 pm

You need to be in the church at those times if you wish to confess. When the last penitent in line has confessed, the priest will not wait around: he will go home!

ST. FELIX FOOD DRIVE was a wonderful success. This morning I was told that we gave St. Felix 5,000 lb. of food, and $12,000 in cash donations. As always, I am so proud of you! God bless you for your generosity!

LET US PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER:
Our parishioner, D.M.,  is suffering Stage 4 lung cancer which has metastasized.  He would like as many prayers as possible.

Mr. & Mrs. B. C. would like prayers for their unborn child who is due in August.

WE ARE IN THE MONTH OF MAY - PRAY THE ROSARY EVERY DAY!

LAUGHTER IS THE BEST MEDICINE:
-Whoever decided that a Liquor Store is more essential than a Hair Salon or Barber Shop is obviously a bald-headed alcoholic!

-Hate when Walmart doesn't have what I need and I have to go home, change out of my pajamas and brush my hair so that I can go to Target.

OUR PRAYER FOR THE DAY:
O Thou, Who art the hope of all the ends of the earth, and on Whom the eyes of all do wait, Who crowns the year with Thy goodness, and openest Thine hand and fill all things living with plenty: every day we give thanks unto Thee, and praise Thy Name for ever and ever; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

I send you my fatherly blessing, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen !

Msgr. Doug Raun
