Memo from Msgr. Raun - Sunday, May 10th, 2020

My dear family,
Greetings in the Risen Lord!

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY to all of our beloved Moms!I offered Mass this morning for all of our Mothers, living and departed.

A Mother’s Love

Of all the special joys in life,
The big ones and the small,
A mother’s love and tenderness
Is the greatest of them all.
~ Anon.

REASONS TO HOPE IN GOD'S GOODNESS
God will be good to you no matter what happens!
“Only goodness and faithful love will pursue me all the days of my life” (Psalm 23:6). You may not feel as if you can count on anything right now, but you can count on the goodness of God. Other people may not be good to you in the future, but God will. You can count on his consistency and benevolence—no matter what happens.
PRAYER REQUESTS: Our Care Call ministry continues. In the course of the Care Calls we get many prayer requests. Every day I offer Mass for these requests and pray for them. I thought it might be good to share some of these requests with you, so that we might unite in prayer as a spiritual family. These requests are shared with the permission of the people, but I have thought it best to share them anomalously. Let us pray for one another!

Mrs. A.B. and children, in addition to the difficulties of the pandemic, are also suffering through divorce. A. also recently lost her job, and is now struggling to support her family with no income. A great deal of uncertainty, and stress, with social distancing, relational strife, and financial instability all factoring (among others) into the equation. She has asked for our prayers, especially for peace and blessed assurance from the Lord. May we pray that her trust in God is unwavering!

ETERNAL REST GRANT HIM, O LORD! Last night I received the news that our parishioner, and father of our Director of Liturgy/Choirmaster/Organist extraordinaire Steve Woodbury, Mr. Wilbur Woodbury, went home to be with the Lord.
HOLINESS TIP: taken from the sayings of Blessed Laura Vicuña....
“To do the Will of God: this is my favorite prayer.”
Pray for God’s will in your life and pray for the courage to follow His will. He knows you and He loves you more than you love yourself. He can and will make something beautiful out of you if you let Him.

WE ARE IN THE MONTH OF MAY - PRAY THE ROSARY EVERY DAY!
LAUGHTER IS THE BEST MEDICINE:
- If you keep a glass of wine in each hand, you can’t accidentally touch your face.

- This cleaning with alcohol is total nonsense. NOTHING gets done after that first bottle.

OUR PRAYER FOR THE DAY:
Lord Jesus, you are the living bread which sustains me in this life. May I always hunger for the bread which comes from heaven and find in it the nourishment and strength I need to love and serve you wholeheartedly. May I always live in the joy, peace, and unity of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, both now and in the age to come."

I send you my fatherly blessing, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen !
Msgr. Doug Raun
