Life Teen (9th - 12th grade)

Life Teen is a non-classroom based high school catechism.  It is for all high school aged teens who want to grow deeper in their understanding of their faith and develop a true relationship with Jesus Christ.

• When do you meet? - Every Sunday during the school year after the 6:00pm mass until 9:00pm.
• Open to all high school aged teens. (9th - 12th grades)
• What is my responsibility as a parent? - Please bring your son or daughter to Mass every Sunday.
• Who do I talk to if I want to help out? - We feed the teens dinner every Sunday after Life Teen.  If you are interested in signing up to cook, please contact Rita at (505) 896-8097.  For other ways of helping please contact the youth office!

Confirmation Preparation (11th grade +)

• Confirmation Orientation for parents and teens is on Tuesday, September 12th at 7:00pm in the church.  Classes will continue to meet every Monday evening thereafter.  (A schedule will be given at orientation)
• What time and where are the classes? Every Monday from 7:00pm to 8:30pm in the Church and Religious Education Building
• Will the candidate (my teen) enjoy the classes?  Absolutely!  Nearly half of the past 12 years classes have wanted to come back and help for the following year!
• What are the requirements for confirmation? This will be answered at orientation, but basically the candidate must be at least in the 11th grade, we will need copies of their Baptism and First Holy Communion certificates and they will be required to attend all classes,  fulfill 20 service hours, and attend a mandatory confirmation retreat scheduled for November 5th-7th, 2010. 
• What if my son or daughter cannot attend the retreat?  The retreat is mandatory.  The date is given early so they can schedule arond work, athletic, or other activities well in advance.  Those who miss the retreat for a valid reason (documented serious illness or death in the family) will be dealt with on a case by case basis.
• Can I enroll my son or daughter in confirmation if they are not in the 11th grade?  If you son or daughter missed confirmation in their 11th grade and is now older, then yes!  If they are in 9th or 10th grade, they will have to wait to enroll with the rest of their peers when they are of age. 
• What is my responsibility as a parent?  Please bring your teen to Mass every  Sunday and make sure they are attending class every week.

Sacramental Preparation (9th - 12th grades) - Need Baptism, Confession, or First Holy Communion?

• Classes start with Parent AND Teen Orientation on Monday, September 12th at 7:00pm in the Church.

KAIROS (9th - 12th grades) - Ongoing Bible study for teens!

• What is KAIROS?  KAIROS is an ongoing Bible study for teens who wish to grow deeper in their knowledge and faith.
• What time and where do you meet? Every Wednesday we meet in the church for the 6:00pm daily mass.  After mass we meet in the Pope John Paul II Life House (just west of the church and adoration chapel)
• Open to all high school aged teens!
